– As a parent, his/her role (or the role of any birth partner) starts much earlier than the labour since the bonding process is put in place with every piece of relaxation (belly being touched, baby being talked to, etc.).
– She/he is a key part of helping the mother to feel reassured and to enter a state of relaxation and a sense of safeness.
– During labour, he/she is not just a spectator. The birth partner has the key role of guardian to ensure that the mother is disturbed as little as possible.
